Tango Workshops Belen & Anibal in September

Tango Synergy is happy to announce the addition of 2 tango workshops in September. This will be the first return visit of Anibal Montenegro to Sydney since 2018. This tour, Anibal is partnering with Sydney’s beloved teacher, performer and choreographer Belen Silva to deliver a series of tango workshops including 2 workshops at Synergy Sundays.

Workshop: Moving to the music

Instructors: Belen Silva & Anibal Montenegro
Venue: Redfern Town Hall
Time: Sunday 3 Sept 6:30pm–8:00pm followed by Synergy Practica 8pm-9:30pm
Price: $40 / $35 members.
Workshop description: How do we use dynamics to express and play with the music? Exploring Rhythm, Melody and Pauses with a focus on Lineal movements.

Workshop: Creating turns

Instructors: Belen Silva & Anibal Montenegro
Venue: Harold Park Community Hall, Tramsheds
Time: Sunday 17 Sept 6:30pm–8:00pm, followed by Synergy Practica 8pm-9:30pm
Price: $40 / $35 members.

Harold Park Community Hall at Tramsheds, Forest Lodge

The spacious Harold Park Community Hall inside the Tramsheds commercial complex in the Sydney suburb of Forest Lodge, is our main Practica venue for Summer and Autumn 2023. See a map to the venue using this Google Map link. Some Sundays were unavailable to book at Harold Park Community Hall. Our backup venue on these dates will be Redfern Town Hall.

Venue Facilities

On Sunday evenings, the Tramsheds precinct is open for trading. Shops that are open include a supermarket, restaurants and bars, wine vendors, and Messina gelato shop.

Travelling by car to Tramsheds

The Harold Park Community Hall is located up the escalators at Tramsheds in Forest Lodge/Glebe area.

Tramsheds Car park

Access can be from the Tramsheds carpark which is offering free parking after 6pm.

Tramsheds rear entrance street parking

Street parking is also usually found on the Tramsheds back entrance if you aim for the corner of Victoria Road and Maxwell Road, Glebe.

Travelling by light rail to Tramsheds

If you are coming by light rail, alight at Jubilee Park station and enter via the rear entrance of Tramsheds near the corner of Victoria Road and Maxwell Road. Jubilee Park stop is 80m from Tramsheds.

Travel by Bus to Tramsheds.

Check your transport options using the mobile apps. Services include: 501 bus from Ryde, 370 bus from Coogee, 431 from City. A 5-10 minute walk from the bus stop and the venue may be required.

Our backup Sunday venue is upstairs at the recently renovated Redfern Town Hall. We will be using Redfern Town Hall when we have been unable to book Tramsheds, see the schedule above.

Travelling by car to Redfern Town Hall

On-street parking is available around the hall on Pitt street and in nearby streets, such as around Redfern Park located 1 block east of the Town Hall.

Redfern Town Hall is an easy-going 500 metre walk from Redfern Station.
