Summer Outdoor Milongas 2019
During the summer months from November to April we run outdoor milongas every second and fourth Sunday of the month from 6:30pm, weather permitting. The first one for the year will be Sunday 10th November. We’re located on the foreshore in front of the shops and restaurants, between the Convention Centre and the Maritime Museum. Just listen for the music. The closest light rail stop is Convention Centre.
We rely on your donations to keep this event happening, so please think about what a milonga normally costs and be generous.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates should the weather change.
**There will be no outdoor milonga on 24th November due to the BASH weekend.**
Fiesta de Tango
Come along and tango ’til you drop at our annual all-day milonga at Glebe Town Hall. We’ll be starting at 11am and dancing through to 6:30pm on Sunday 17th November. There’s an awesome line-up of DJs plus a special hour of live music with Barrio del Tango from 1pm. There will be free “intro to tango” classes held hourly from 11:30am to 5:30pm conducted by local teachers, so please bring along your unsuspecting non-tango friends and watch them get hooked.
We’ll have some tasty tango nibbles for your gastric pleasure and some sumptuous wine to wash them down with. (Or you can BYO.) Take your glass with you to indulge in that art gallery feeling while you peruse artwork by our talented members Iris Toren and Michael Golding. Then why not round off the experience with a rummage through some tango dancewear? You never know what you might find… Vendors include On Dress Shop and Madame Pivot.
