BASH 2024 Program

We have a schedule of delightful entertainment prepared this year. Attendees will be sent tips and reminders via email as the date draws closer. See you all in Bundanoon NSW on the last week of November.

Friday Welcome

Welcome drinks and snacks

7pm – 8pm

This Friday night, we warm up with easy going cocktail lounge music, we return to BASH with musical entertainment featuring our singer and MC, Arthur Athanassiou. Relax, unwind and mingle with old friends or new acquaintances.

Complimentary wines for BASH 2024 are kindly provided by Mike Bruer of Temple Bruer Organic Wines. Non-alcoholic drinks and delicious snacks will also be provided at the welcome party.

DRESS SUGGESTION: Smart and comfortable.

Friday welcome milonga

8pm – midnight

DJ Chris Han (Brisbane) brings his warmth and quality to the BASH opening night milonga. Chris Han’s wonderful music will touch you with his heartfelt selection of golden age tango hits.

9pm: Light supper is served.

DRESS SUGGESTION: Smart and comfortable.

Fairy Bower Falls, Morton National Park near Bundanoon NSW

Saturday morning 2 hour guided bushwalk

8am – 10am

Guided by Andrew McMillan, group walk to Fairy Bower Falls in the Morton National Park. Bring your hat and hiking boots, rain-coat and water bottle. $8 per vehicle park entrance fee.

ASSEMBLY POINT: 8AM – Park entrance on Gullies Road, south of Bundanoon
WET WEATHER CONTINGENCY: Stay in bed!

9am – 10am

Instructor Brit Adams from Moss Vale Yoga Studio will be guiding BASH participants through a revitalising yoga session in the dance hall.

Wear comfortable yoga attire and your water bottle! Brit Adams will bring extra yoga mats to borrow but these mats first come-first served! Bring your yoga mat if you can! This is a popular event – once the session reaches capacity we will need to turn people away 🙁

Body movement activation workshop

10:30am – 11:30pm

Expand your dance expression with contemporary dance and tango instructor, Andrea Zahoranska.

Using various movement and dance exercises, Andrea guides us to find new movement possibilities, to heighten our body awareness. Find your freedom flow, activate your body and stimulate your creativity for movement. This is not a tango workshop, but all tango dancers are encouraged to join the class.

DRESS: Loose and comfortable, shoes are optional.

Saturday afternoon milonga

12pm – 4pm

DJ Juan Quiroz (Sydney) will delight us with his playful and surprising selection of tango music. DJ Juan has a reputation for his carefully considered sets with quality tangos that go beyond the familiar hits. You are going to appreciate a lively and innovative Saturday afternoon session.

DRESS: Colourful and playful.

Saturday night milonga DJ set

8pm – 1am

DJ Mark Stojani (Adelaide) will look after us during this important gala milonga. His traditional set, mixed with occasional modern orchestras, will keep the night moving with 5 hours of tango music.

9:30pm: Mendoza Tango Quartet performance.
10pm: Light supper is served.
DRESS: Elegant, but comfortable.

Live tango performance

9:30pm – 10:45pm

We present Mendoza Tango Quartet feat. Solange Lipcin who will set the hall alight with their repertoire of tango hits this Super Saturday night. Returning again from BASH 2023, Mendoza are coming in hot off the back of their recent appearances at Perth Tango Festival. You’ll be delighted by their tango repertoire of big tango hits including valses and milongas – a treat for live music lovers! Mendoza will play two 35 minute sets separated by a 30 minute break.

10:05pm: 30 minute intermission, with music by DJ Mark. Light supper will be served in the break room.

11am – 2pm

Sunday milonga

11am – 3pm

DJ Alex Nodelman (Sydney) loves to play a vast range of music from his collection of quality recordings. As the choice DJ for tango festivals in Australia and New Zealand, we present a Sunday milonga that will be playful, fun and memorable. You won’t want to miss a tanda.

DRESS: Fun and relaxed.

BASH 2024 Group Photo

3pm

After the last tanda of the tango weekend, we assemble at the end of the event to take part in a group photo; to capture a lasting memory to remind us of the wonderful moments we had until the next event. Abrazos!
