First Friday Milonga in February at the Polish Club, Ashfield
Tango Synergy is delighted to partner with the Polish Club in Ashfield to present a new First Friday of the month milonga series.
The first of this series will take place on Friday 6 February 2026, featuring four hours of dancing with carefully curated tandas by DJ Luke, complemented by a variety of Latin dance cortinas — typically kept short, but extended when the floor is alive and dancers wish to continue enjoying the music. Doors open at 8:00 pm, with dancing continuing late into the evening.
Why a First Friday Milonga?
This initiative reflects the Synergy committee’s ongoing effort to adapt and improve the milonga experience for our community. Since relocating from our previous venue, some Wednesday milongas have naturally seen reduced attendance, we suspect that this is partly due to the early start and end time venue limitation. In response to members’ requests for a longer dance session and a later start time, we have plan to offer this new format and time.
Moving the Synergy milonga to a Friday allows us to offer a more relaxed schedule, extended dancing time, and a setting that better supports both dancers and organisers.
This series will initially run on the first Friday of each month, giving us the opportunity to listen to our members’ feedback and assess how this change supports the community.
Pricing
For this first Friday milonga, we are keeping the same entry price as our Wednesday milonga. This is an introductory price, giving everyone — dancers and committee alike — the opportunity to become familiar with the venue while we trial and refine the setup.
By keeping the price accessible, we also hope to make it easier for dancers to continue enjoying other milongas throughout the month.
Getting There
🚆 Train
Only a 5-minute walk from Ashfield Train Station.
Take the Brown Street exit, walk up Brown Street to Liverpool Road, cross the road, turn left, and follow the short path to the Club entrance.
🚗 Free Underground Parking
Entrance via 73 Norton Street.
The Club is lift-accessible from the car park. If the car park is full, there is ample street parking nearby, with access via the main entrance at 182 Liverpool Road.

- Please arrive early to allow time for club check-in and remember to bring your ID.
- The Polish Club offers 10% off dining for registered Polish Club members.
- Food and beverages are also available from the bar, and items purchased from the deli may be brought into the dance hall.
