In 2017 TANGO SYNERGY celebrated 10 YEARS OF INCORPORATION and as part of the celebration we hosted Fiesta de Tango, a day of everything tango was held in the beautiful Victorian Italianate style Glebe Town Hall on November the 11th.
The aim of the day was to give something back to our loyal membership and at the same time reach out to people who may have had a curiosity about this beautiful art form of tango.
New people were welcomed to their first tango lesson by local teachers and seasoned Tangueros enjoyed the all-day Milonga in the main hall . DJ Alex kept the dancers on the floor from 11am till 4.30pm and the very talented Septet of Tango Oz helped make the day a very special one.
There were many opportunities to purchase tango clothes and shoes from our hard working vendors and our very talented in-house artists Iris Toren and Michael Golding displayed some of their works.
Frida shared some of her extensive knowledge of tango music in a popular series of lectures.
The tango magazine Mirada was launched and has been distributed widely with a good response from readers.This project fitted in with the day’s celebrations and Tango Synergy thanks Kes Petersen for presenting the idea to the committee and working with Mona Ardeleanu and the many contributors to create this first edition of Mirada.
A very big thank you to the many volunteers who worked so hard during the day. A day such as this would not happen without the help of Members of Tango Synergy and friends.
